Prince Kaybee returns with ‘Veliry’, a new single featuring Ben September, released via PLAYY. Records. The South African Afro-house DJ, producer and television personality has steadily evolved since his Universal Music South Africa tenure, positioning himself as a conduit between the genre’s African origins and a global listenership. His previous PLAYY. Records release, ‘Heno Babayo’, drew international attention, earning features in MIXMAG across Europe and the Americas, support from YourEDM.com and House Music With Love, airplay on KISS XTRA’s The Afro Electronic Show with Larizzle, and coverage from IOL, Music In Africa, Metro FM, YFM and Good Hope FM.
Kabelo Motsamai, better known as Prince Kaybee, originally aspired to a football career with Bloemfontein Celtic until a knee injury redirected his path. Immersed in his father’s collection of African classics and traditional jazz, he gravitated toward music production. Sasolburg-born Ben September, a singer-songwriter whose sound fuses alternative R&B, Afro-pop and soul, first emerged through collaborations with Prince Kaybee, Tyler ICU and The Big Hash. Drawing inspiration from Brent Faiyaz and Daniel Caesar, his songwriting delves into themes of love, vulnerability and self-discovery.
‘Veliry’ opens with a gentle, flowing guitar that creates a sunlit, organic atmosphere before the Afro-house rhythm takes hold. Ben September’s smooth vocals glide through the track, bringing both intimacy and elevation. Lush percussion, delicate melodies and airy instrumentation keep the soundscape spacious and the momentum growing.
Prince Kaybee shared: “This song is inspired by a beautiful lady named Veliry. She reminds me of a beautiful day of harmonic love songs.”
