Eole (the moniker of French artist Maxence Janvrin) has unveiled a two-track EP, From Yesterday Until Tomorrow, on the 27th October 2023 via Enchanté Records. Inspired by artists such as Fred Again, Sammy Virji and Kaytranada, Eole is looking to breathe life into the French house music scene with his captivating production style. Despite this being his debut release, the French artist has already worked with various prestigious brands, composing film music and scores for Kourtrajmé, Gucci, Arte, Charles de Vilmorin, Zalando, Rochas and Palais de Tokyo, to name a few. In addition, he’s now the JBL Europe french music ambassador. He’s also been DJing actively in Paris for the last 5 years, with this EP set to further solidify his name in the French music scene.
From Yesterday Until Tomorrow infuses UK House with influences from Eole’s native home of France. Glittering melodies dance deftly over pulsing rhythms, while the glitchy vocals pan hypnotically from one side of the stereo image to the other, drawing the listener into a trippy trance. This psychedelic tinge is subtle but effective, but the beat is bouncy and tight, the synths stabs bright, and the bass is fat and funky, delivering a dance-ready palatability that makes both tracks impossible not to move to. The incorporation of ethereal female vocals in Until Tomorrow draws the listener in deeper – this EP is a perfect soundtrack to a hazy and hedonistic summer.
Eole commented: “With this EP, I wanted to break down the boundaries that French artists set for themselves, to dare to cross oceans with relevant music. All the experiences I’ve had with Gucci, JBL, Zalando, Foot Locker and even Kourtrajme have pushed me to assert myself with this project. I’ve been waiting for this moment for 15 years, to unleash the beast in the arena, so that Eole can finally starts blowing the storm.”
