Renowned music producers Booka Shade collaborate with Rashid Ajami

Booka Shade and Rashid Ajami drop their debut collaboration, ‘Memories’, out now on Blaufield Music. A growing name within melodic house and techno, with releases via Get Physical, Tale &Tone, Anjunadeep, Einmusikaand Selador, London-born DJ and producer Rashid Ajami is a multi-faceted talent.

Originally spotted by Maya Jane Coles in 2012, his years since have welcomed a steady flow of material, including collaborations with the likes of Julia Govor; ‘Memories’ marks his biggest collaboration to date as he joins forces with the legendary German duo. Fusing delicate organic drums with commanding synth lines, warping basslines, and captivating vocals throughout, the epic ‘Memories’ captures that late-Summer feel and transports lighter sun-soaked opening tones into deeper territories as listeners journey between light and dark.

“Booka Shade have always been a great inspiration to me. I’ve been listening to their music since I was a teenager first going out in the dance scene! So to be releasing with them is really surreal and a big moment for me”, Rashid says.”The track was created to feel nostalgic, but upbeat at the same time. Something that can be listened to at a festival or with headphones every day. I’m super excited and happy with how it turned out!”

This year Ajami has put a wholehearted focus on production, debuting on exciting imprints such as TOR, Selador, and Tale & Tone with the stunning EP ‘You Don’t Know Me’ adding to an already solid back catalogue. Just as he rejects music genres, his talents cross artistic boundaries too, with a planned programme of digital artworks, installations and cutting-edge multi-media creations in the works, plus he’s just launched his debut NFT collection through XNFTFalling Through Eternity’–a perfect medium for an artist immersed in, and fascinated by, music, art and technology in all its forms.
