Music Producer and Audio Engineer Maya Jane Coles Releases a New Remix ”Cocoon’ By Gold Fields, Premiered By Mixmag

Producer/DJ Maya Jane Coles has recently released a new remix, ‘Cocoon’ by Gold Fields, premiered by mixmag on the 20th of June. The original single by Gold Fields was released on the 12th of April this year and the remix was released on the 21st of June via Haven Sounds.

Both artists need little introduction as Gold Fields have performed at festivals such as SXSW, Coachella and BIGSOUND. Maya Jane Coles has done a string of remixes for well known artists such as Depeche Mode, The xx and Tricky.

While the original song was part of the album Dalawa, and carried an “indie electronic” feel to it, the remix brings it within the deep house relm. The changes take the song from one that is perfect for an afternoon in the sun to the urgency of a thrumming and dark night-club. By quickening the tempo and introducing a thrumming beat, she’s ensured that it’s going to be difficult to keep off the dance floor when this single comes on.

Maya Jane Coles commented that she “Really enjoyed working on this track! It turned into something very different to everything else I’ve done in the remix department, but super happy with the outcome.”
