The future’s looking bright for young South African music producer Siphe Tebeka who has just released latest song ‘Ndiyekeni’ via renowned music label KUNYE a few days ago. Beginning his music production journey in 2007, since then the artist has performed at big-scale dance music stages including Tomorrowland and Rocking The Daisies. ‘Ndiyekeni’ is a deep house love affair, leaving one to gaze at the stars and appreciate the beauty that surrounds the stillness of the evening.
We chatted with DJ Siphe Tebeka prior to the song release.
What’s your “secret sauce?” What makes your sound stand out?
I spend time in the studio, it is not always about finishing a track. I always try to be different.
What made you decide to pursue a musical career?
I grew up in a township where there were a lot of things happening, so I decided to make music whilst most people were into other things. So music was an outlet in the form of expressing myself.
Pros and cons of the industry from your perspective?
There is a lot that can happen. One day you can wake up with a lot of gigs, and the next day nothing at all if the recent COVID19 pandemic is anything to go about.

In most cases, I get inspired by certain artists like Stimming, Olivier Giacommoto, Culoe De Song, and Stephan Bodzin to mention a few.
